We have had hundreds of requests for more acoustic stuff, so this month we’ll look at the introduction to Take It Easy by The Eagles.
The Chords
This has not been tabbed but all the chord positions and names are detailed for you. The chords that are used are G, Am7/G, and D7Sus/G, with the G note (3rd fret top E string) being played throughout.
These chord changes also help produce the underlying change of note on the G string (from open G to A) that gives the intro its theme and distinctiveness. Many a guitarist has just used G, Am and C to play this, but, if you try this sequence of chords, you will notice that they are far removed from the original.
Take It Easy by The Eagles. Strumming Patterns
The emphasis on some of the down strokes provide some extra attack in key places and combines with the straighter more even pattern to produce yet another great progression of chords for you to learn.
